God is in All as All, and All are in God as God

The nature of divinity has been a subject of contemplation and realization for sages, rishis, and enlightened beings for millennia. The profound truth—"God is in all as all, and all are in God as God"—encapsulates the essence of non-duality (Advaita) and the eternal wisdom of Sanatan Dharma. This statement suggests that the Divine is not separate from creation but is both its essence and entirety.

Understanding the Omnipresence of God

In Sanatan Dharma, the concept of Brahman is central. Brahman is the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality—the absolute consciousness that permeates everything. The Upanishads declare:

"Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma" (All this is indeed Brahman)                        - Chandogya Upanishad 3.14.1

This means that everything we see, experience, and even that which remains unseen is nothing but Brahman. The waves of the ocean are not separate from the ocean itself; similarly, all creation is but an expression of the Divine.

"To realize the Divine is to recognize yourself in all, and all in yourself."
– Adarsh Singh

God as All – The Immanence of the Divine

The idea that God is in all as all implies that every particle of existence is a manifestation of the Divine. This is beautifully illustrated in the Bhagavad Gita when Shri Krishna declares:

"I am the Self, O Gudakesha, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle, and the end of all beings." (Bhagavad Gita 10.20)

This highlights the intrinsic divinity within all existence. The sun, the rivers, the mountains, the trees, the animals, and even human beings—everything is a sacred expression of the Divine.
"When you see the Divine in the dust and the diamond alike, you have seen clearly."
– Adarsh Singh

All are in God as God – The Transcendence of the Divine

Just as waves rise and fall within the ocean, all beings exist within the Divine. We do not exist apart from God; we exist in God, as God. This is the essence of Advaita Vedanta, where the illusion of separateness (Maya) dissolves into the realization of oneness.

Adi Shankaracharya, the great proponent of Advaita, declared:

"Brahma Satyam Jagan Mithya, Jivo Brahmaiva Na Parah"
(Brahman alone is real; the world is an illusion; the individual soul is not different from Brahman.)
"The drop is not apart from the ocean; it is the ocean in a form you can hold."
– Adarsh Singh

Practical Implications of this Realization

1. Seeing Divinity in All
When we internalize that everything is God, we cultivate a sense of unity and respect for all life forms. It transforms the way we interact with the world. There is no room for hatred, discrimination, or division when we realize that every being is an expression of the Divine.

"Compassion flows naturally when you see yourself in all beings."
– Adarsh Singh

2. Living in Surrender
Realizing that we are within God, as God, dissolves ego and fosters surrender. This is the core of Bhakti Yoga, where one surrenders completely to the Divine will, knowing that the individual self is merely an instrument.

"Surrender is not giving up; it is giving in—to the divine rhythm already playing through you."
– Adarsh Singh

3. Liberation from Fear and Suffering

The fear of death, loss, and suffering arises from the illusion of separation. When one realizes that all is Brahman, there is nothing to lose, nothing to gain—just the eternal play of the Divine. This brings unshakable peace and bliss (Ananda).

"Fear dissolves where Oneness is realized, for there is nothing outside you to fear."
– Adarsh Singh

Conclusion

The realization that God is in all as all, and all are in God as God is not just a philosophical concept but an experiential truth. This understanding leads to oneness, love, and liberation—the very essence of Sanatan Dharma. When we awaken to this truth, we transcend the illusion of separateness and merge into the infinite consciousness, experiencing the ultimate Sat Chit Ananda-existence, consciousness, and bliss.

"You are not merely in the universe; you are the universe remembering itself through a name and a form."
